Solution

Setting up Email Forwarding with an POP Email Bundle

If you have an email Bundle, you will be able to use email forwarding concurrently with your Email Services

Use these instructions if you're setting up email forwarding on your domain with an email bundle. If you already have POP Email and would like to set up forwarding on one of your email boxes, please see the instructions in the article, POP Email: How to Set Up Email Forwarding on POP Email Boxes.

Where POP Email gives you actual mailboxes on a mail server from which you can send and receive email, our free Email Forwarding service allows you to create up to 100 email addresses that will be forwarded to other existing email addresses. For example, you can set up the account example@example.com to forward to your existing email address of Destnation@Hotmail.com or any other existing email address.

You must have an existing destination email address to use this service.

Please note that you can receive mail at your domain name using forwarding, but you cannot send mail from your domain. You must reply to it from your existing email address.

To set up your email forwarding:

  1. In your account, under Email click Manage.
  2. Click the domain name you want to edit.
  3. Click the FORWARDING tab.
  4. Enter any user name you'd like into the Host Name box and on the same line put a destination email address in the Forward To box. Repeat as needed to add more addresses.
  5. If desired, you can enter a destination email address to the right of the * (catch all) host name. This will forward all mail received for non-existent addresses on your domain. This is useful if someone mistypes your email address, for example.
  6. Click Save All when you are done and allow up to one hour for it to take effect.

Setting Up Email Forwarding without a POP Email Bundle

Use these instructions if you're setting up email forwarding by itself on your domain. If you already have POP Email and would like to set up forwarding on one of your email boxes, please see the instructions in the article, POP Email: How to Set Up Email Forwarding on POP Email Boxes.

To set up your email forwarding:

  1. In your account, click menu option Domains and then click My Domains.
  2. Click the domain name you want to edit.
  3. Under DNS Server Settings, ensure that you're using Our Servers by following the instructions in the article, How to Change Domain Nameservers (DNS).
  4. Click Email Settings or select Email Settings from the Manage Domain drop-down list.
  5. In the Service Selection drop-down list, click Email Forwarding.
  6. Enter any user name you'd like into the Host Name box and on the same line put a destination email address in the Forward To box. Make sure Enabled is checked. Repeat as needed for additional addresses.
  7. If desired, enter a destination email address to the right of the * (catch all) host name. This will forward all mail received for non-existent addresses on your domain. This is useful if someone typos your email address, for example.
  8. Click Save when you are done and allow up to 1 hour for it to take effect.
